Chemical Peels in Puyallup, WA
"Chemical peel" can sound intimidating, but most of what a peel does is speed up something your skin already does on its own: shed old cells and make new ones. When we guide that process with the right acids at the right depth, skin can look brighter, clearer, and more even. The key is matching the peel to your skin, not the other way around.
We offer a small, intentional menu of medical-grade peels, from a gentle lunchtime refresh to a medium-depth VI Peel, and I choose and layer each one based on what I see in your skin that day.
How chemical peels work
A peel applies acids to the skin that loosen the bonds holding dead surface cells together. As those cells release, your skin renews itself from underneath. Lighter peels refresh the very top layer. Deeper peels reach further, which can help with pigment, acne, and texture, but they come with more visible peeling.
The acids in my peels each have a job:
Malic acid (an AHA): gently refines texture and supports cell turnover for a smoother, brighter surface.
Salicylic acid (a BHA): oil-soluble, so it gets into pores to clear congestion and calm inflammation.
VI Peel blends: combine acids, antioxidants, and peptides to target pigment, uneven tone, and acne-prone skin.
Choosing the right peel
Epionce Lite Peel Refresh. A gentle reset for dull, dry, or congested skin. Great for first-time peel clients, sensitive skin, or keeping your skin healthy between treatments. No real downtime, so it's a true lunchtime peel.
Custom Physician Blend Peel (Mal-E + Sal-E). A physician-strength Epionce peel that I layer in real time, adjusting depth for acne, pigment, or texture. It's a medium-depth peel that often has minimal visible peeling: light dryness or flaking, if any.
VI Peel Precision Plus + Peptide. For sun damage, discoloration, melasma, stubborn pigment, fine lines, and loss of radiance. A medium-depth peel with visible peeling.
VI Peel Purify Precision Plus + Peptide. For active acne, oily or congested skin, acne scarring, and post-acne pigmentation. A medium-depth peel with visible peeling.
Not sure which one fits? That's what the consultation is for.
What to expect with a VI Peel
The VI Peels follow a predictable renewal process:
Days 1–2: skin may feel tight and look slightly bronzed or darker.
Days 3–5: visible peeling begins, usually around the mouth and chin first.
Days 5–7: fresh, brighter skin is revealed.
Every VI Peel includes a curated post-care kit and access to an app that tracks your progress day by day and walks you through aftercare. You'll never be left wondering whether what you're seeing is normal.
Who is a good candidate?
Most skin types can benefit from the right peel. During your consultation, I'll look at your skin, ask about your skincare routine, and review your health history and medications. We'll wait or choose a different option if you have a sunburn or recent tan, an active cold sore or skin infection, recent isotretinoin (Accutane) use, a known allergy to aspirin or salicylates (for salicylic peels), or if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
What to expect at your appointment
The VI Peels take about 30 minutes, and the Custom Physician Blend about 45–60 minutes. I'll cleanse your skin, apply the peel in layers, and watch how your skin responds as I go. Most people feel warmth, tingling, or itching that settles quickly. With the Lite Peel, you'll leave glowing. With deeper peels, the visible changes happen over the following days.
Before your visit
Arrive with clean skin, no makeup.
Stop retinoids, exfoliating acids, and scrubs a few days beforehand.
Avoid sun, tanning, and self-tanner for at least 1–2 weeks.
Avoid waxing, threading, or laser in the area for about a week before.
If you're planning around an event, book a VI Peel at least 2 weeks ahead.
Aftercare
Follow your post-care kit and app instructions exactly. They're designed for your peel.
Don't pick or pull at peeling skin. Let it come off on its own.
Use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer, and skip retinoids, acids, and scrubs until your skin has fully healed.
Wear SPF 30+ daily and avoid direct sun. New skin is extra sensitive.
Skip heavy sweating, saunas, hot tubs, and swimming for a couple of days after a VI Peel.
Safety
Medical-grade peels are a medical treatment, and I treat them that way. I assess your skin before every peel, choose the depth carefully, and adjust in real time. Every peel is done by a licensed nurse practitioner, not delegated. Side effects are usually mild and temporary, such as redness, tightness, and flaking. Less commonly, irritation, breakouts, or changes in skin color can happen, especially with sun exposure after a peel. Results vary from person to person. I'll go over all of this with you in advance so nothing is a surprise.
The Smooth & Glow Edit: add Botox, Dysport, or Daxxify to your VI Peel for $11/unit. See Botox & wrinkle relaxers. 0% financing: after a quick soft credit check, you may qualify for up to 9 months interest-free. See Financing. Member pricing: coming soon.

Frequently asked questions
Will I peel a lot? It depends on the peel. The Lite Peel has no real downtime. The Custom Physician Blend usually means light flaking, if any. The VI Peels have visible peeling for about 5–7 days.
Which peel should I start with? If you're new to peels or have sensitive skin, the Lite Peel is a great place to start. For pigment or acne, I'll usually talk with you about the Custom Physician Blend or a VI Peel. We'll decide together at your consultation.
How many peels will I need? One peel can give a nice refresh, but pigment, acne, and texture usually improve most with a series. Results vary, and I'll recommend spacing based on your skin.
Can a peel help melasma? The VI Peel Precision Plus is designed for pigment, including melasma. Melasma is stubborn and can come back, especially with sun and hormones, so it usually needs a long-term plan with daily sun protection.
Can I get a peel while pregnant or breastfeeding? Most medical-grade peels aren't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ask me about the Pregnancy Glow Facial instead.
Can I get a peel in Bonney Lake? Yes. Chemical peels are offered at my private Bonney Lake studio on Mondays. The exact location is shared after you book.
